Incredible emotion
It is the Umbrian-Tuscan axis that provides the last great emotion on the final Olympic day of clay shooting. In fact, the first ever edition of Skeet Misto took place in Chateauroux, a discipline which saw Italy triumph thanks to Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti. For both of them it is the second gold at the Olympics, given that they both managed to win it in Rio 2016, while for Bacosi it is the third medal ever (in her palm there is also silver in the Skeet in Tokyo 2020).
The long-awaited redemption
It is our country that is the first to write its name in what is an absolute novelty for the five-circle event. Both Bacosi and Rossetti (led by Andrea Benelli) redeemed themselves in a somewhat muted single event, replenishing the personal medal count of the Italian clay pigeon shooting team which thus rose to two medals (there is also silver for Silvana Stanco).
The Grand Final
After an almost perfect qualification (149 targets out of 150), the shooter from Città della Pieve and the shooter from Florence beat the United States in the final who could count on an absolute champion in Vincent Hancock. The Italian 45/50 was better than the Stars and Stripes 44/50, completing the podium was China who beat India in the bronze medal match.
