The need for a definitive solution
The ANUUMigratoristi has sent a new communication to the Minister Lollobrigida urging him to provide the institutional responses as soon as possible to guarantee respect and legal certainty to Italian hunters. The Association declares that it has welcomed the Minister's announced intention to find a definitive solution to the calendar problem by the end of the year to secure at least future hunting seasons (since unfortunately the current season has been irremediably compromised), but at the same time strongly emphasizes that today a very difficult and no longer sustainable situation remains.
The issues to be resolved
In the communication to Minister Lollobrigida, ANUUMigratoristi recalls, in fact, that the list of issues to be resolved is long and complex:
ISPRA has not changed its attitude despite the meetings and promises also regarding the issue of exemptions (collection and captures with reactivation of the bird traps);
the problem of border crossings remains;
a common and real work path has not yet been activated in a concrete way for the revision of the Italian Key Concepts and for the overall revision of law 157/92;
we do not yet have a precise identification of the wetlands and the related buffer zones where the ban on the use of lead is in force;
we continue to be subjected to often harassing and humiliating controls;
we are insulted and attacked by real eco-terrorists who destroy our hunting facilities without these individuals being adequately sought and punished;
public television continues to spread misinformation about hunting and to offend the category.
Respect for each other's roles
For ANUUMigratoristi, a very strong acceleration of institutional response times is necessary, immediately starting a real technical and operational path that sees collaboration between Institutions and Hunting Associations, respecting their mutual roles and assuming their respective associative and political responsibilities, suitable for addressing all the problems mentioned with adequate planning and determination. In light of this situation and in the absence of definitive and very urgent institutional initiatives in this sense, the Executive Committee of ANUUMigratoristi Italiani has therefore communicated to the Minister that it is ready to declare the start of a state of mobilization of its members, with the planning of various initiatives - including the possible proposal to suspend any form of collaboration voluntarily provided by individual hunters to date in matters of wildlife management - which, of course, will guarantee compliance with the laws in this area, in the name of education and civic sense as citizen hunters have always done and will do (source: ANUU).
