Agricultural and environmental issues at the center of the meeting on Monday 21 February between the president and the director of Coldiretti Ferrara, Floriano Tassinari and Alessandro Visotti with the president of Province of Ferrara, Gianni Padovani, a few weeks after his election at the top of the local institution. In particular, President Tassinari underlined and reiterated the issues related to the faunal imbalance in the Ferrara area, with reference to coypu and other invasive and harmful wild animals, asking for a commitment also to the Province in the search for a concrete solution to a problem that has been burdening for too long farmers and on the territories of the province of Ferrara.
In the discussion, various questions related to the strong presence of nutria that damage agricultural crops and even more structures and road and hydraulic infrastructures, with risks for all citizens of Ferrara, urging the president of the province to act as a focal point for a problem that can no longer be postponed and exasperating.
President Padovani, in pointing out the problems connected to this situation of imbalance between species and the need for legislative interventions, did not fail to represent in the appropriate places what was highlighted by the agricultural organization of Ferrara, sharing the concerns and the solicitation to act, also with a view to use every available economic and human resource to stem the effects of the presence of such an invasive species.
The hopes for a necessary collaboration to contribute, each for its own function, to the improvement of the provincial economic situation, largely dependent on agricultural sector, fishing and agri-food (Coldiretti).
