Need for clarity
The recognized hunting associations Arci Caccia, Libera Caccia, Italcaccia and Enalcaccia, gathered together, ask for clarification regarding the transfer of the offices of theTerritorial Hunting Area (ATC) of L'Aquila at the headquarters of the Federcaccia hunting association. As is known, the ATCs are private association structures that pursue, in the public interest, the goals of programming wildlife-hunting activities of law no. 157/1992. Hunting associations are defined by the aforementioned law as organizations at regional and provincial level with adequate peripheral bodies with the main purpose of defending hunting and safeguarding the environment and fauna.
Temporary transfer
Hunters residing in the region, registered or admitted to the ATC, participate in wildlife management and pay, in equal measure, the participation fee to cover management costs. In compensation for the services requested from the hunter, the ATC management committee may provide for an appropriate reduction in the participation fee or other forms of recognition. In this regard, what happened in L'Aquila is, to say the least, unusual, where an ATC moved, albeit temporarily, inside the headquarters of the hunting association Federcaccia. It is equally strange how this incompatibility does not attract attention from the regional and provincial supervisory bodies.
Resolving solutions
Therefore, the undersigned hunting associations request the immediate intervention of the competent supervisory bodies in order to restore, in the public interest and that of all hunters, the correct performance of the activities of the ATC of L'Aquila, which currently carries out a function defined as incompatible since its headquarters are located in the premises of the hunting association Federcaccia. If no definitive solutions are given regarding the above, the hunting associations will be forced to take legal action (source: Arci Caccia).
