La Antivivisection League (LAV) of Bergamo has decided to respond to Coldiretti and the recent alarm of the agricultural association sui boars. As reported by Bergamo News, for the LAV ungulates were introduced into our country in a clever and fraudulent way by hunters and are now indicated as the main responsible for serious damage to agriculture. The League also believes that electric fences are the right solution in this case, since they would have been obtained positive results in over 90% of situations.
Furthermore, wild boars would not be as dangerous as is frequently said, while hunting and eradication of the animal are risky. LAV Bergamo also stressed that no municipal administration has ever focused on failure of wildlife hunting management, wild boars in the first place. This is why hunting is considered useless and unable to solve the problem, given that "the abatement quotas increase every year and the damage does not decrease".
The association tried to explain what happens due to the hunting. Hunting is considered to be responsible for the breakdown of wild boars into established groups, as well as increasing their fertility. The official note of the LAV concludes with a suggestion to Coldiretti, namely the request for compensation from the hunting associations, to hit "those who are truly responsible for the damage to agriculture".
