There is an important update regarding the popular law proposal of Italia dei Valori relating to strengthening of self-defense. As stated by Ignatius Messina, national party secretary, the initiative was officially assigned to the Second Standing Committee (Justice) of the Senate. The arrival in one of the two chambers, one of the fundamental steps to get to the approval of the text, dates back to last June 28th.
There has been a lot of talk about it in our country, also because the collection of signatures involved more than that 1,8 million Italians, now the process is long and complicated, but not impossible. Still according to Messina, we still need to work to get the law discussed and approved quickly, given that citizens are clamoring for more security in their homes.
The secretary's comment on any hesitation was also very clear: “Any further shyness would be intolerable and practically shortsighted”. Listening to nearly two million people can only become a priority. Among other things, the IdV stressed that its popular law proposal is the one with the highest number of signatures in the history of the Republic, a fact that cannot be ignored. Now we await a clear and precise response from the legislator.
