Leica Sport Optics (Wetzlar) presents its thermal monoculars for hunting: the Leica Calonox. They will be available towards the end of summer 2020 in two versions: one for observation, called Leica Calonox "View", and a clip-on for mounting on the objective bell of the riflescope, which will be called Leica Calonox " Sight ". Designed in a similar way to cameras, the thermal imager builds images based on the different temperatures of what it is framing. The thermal imaging camera allows you to find animals even behind bushes or in poor visibility conditions, day or night.
Thanks to the large 640 pixel sensor, the high resolution 1024 pixel OLED display, the manual focus and the generous 42mm lens of the Calonox, the highest observation quality is assured. The streamlined, ergonomic Calonox design lives up to the brand and revolutionizes the design concept of thermal imaging cameras. The high performance is obtained with a weight contained in about 500 grams and a minimum size, only 17 centimeters in length. Operation includes photo and video functions and is ensured with only three buttons, for maximum convenience and intuitiveness.
Leica Calonox: One observation instrument and one to mount on the daytime telescope.
The Leica Calonox “Sight” clip-on can be used in connection with a daytime rifle scope, on the objective, and therefore is equipped with 1x magnification. The Leica Calonox “View” offers the ability to recognize wildlife at long distances thanks to the 640 × 480 pixel sensor, with 2.5x optical base magnification, while the wide field of view is ideal for close-up operation. The internal rechargeable battery lasts up to a full 6 hours.
Both models will be available from late summer 2020.
