For this first post-pandemic edition, the IWA has many novelties in store for all enthusiasts and experts in the sector, new special exhibition areas and new formats aimed at making this long-awaited fair even more exciting and involving all the participants in the best possible way. Lots of events planned between 2 and 5 March and also numerous meetings with highly respected exponents. All appointments will be presented by the board member of NürnbergMesse Thomas Preutenborbeck, the president of the National Association of German Gunsmiths and Gunsmiths (VDB) Jürgen Triebel, the president of the National Association of German Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers (JSM) Olaf Sauer, and the president of the Global Forum on Shooting Disciplines ( WFSA) Graham Downing.
The news for the 2023 edition of IWA
Among the interesting and absolute novelties, already announced last year, in pavilion 3A we will find an area dedicated to testing optics and night vision goggles within an incredibly realistic and hands-on environment. A special darkroom complete with adjustable lighting will in fact be set up to allow participants to test thermal and night vision devices in different light conditions, from low light to completely dark. In the test area a heated target will also be placed on the ceiling which will give the possibility to test also the thermal devices, with tests in different conditions and from different distances.

Among the most awaited novelties there is then that of test range for Soft-Air replicas. This initiative had already been launched in the 2019 edition and had met with enormous success. In 2023, therefore, he returns by great demand with his bens six lines of fire and the best airsoft weapons to test. The special area where you can try this experience is pavilion 5.
Also in this pavilion you will also find the new area in which to meet developers and manufacturers ready to provide all the information you may need on products, services and accessories as regards the world of knives, axes and saws. Demonstrations and presentations will certainly expand everyone's knowledge of these types of products. Also participating in this new special exhibition area will be the German Blade Museum which will display its exhibitions.
Pavilion 4, on the other hand, will once again be the one in which i most innovative products and the latest releases for the current year. For the 2023 edition, the protagonists will also be recently founded companies, young start-ups and new exhibitors hosted in the Newcomer area, between pavilions 1 and 3. Le novelty made in Germanyfinally, they will instead be presented in pavilion 3.
For 2023 the IWA really wants to be an event to remember and for everyone. For the first time, during the early afternoon of the fair, a Happy Hour will be held in which all visitors can take part starting at 17. The aim of the initiative is to make the atmosphere more friendly and relaxed, and to give visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to break the ice in a completely serene way before putting on their more formal inside the pavilions. Beers, music, guests of honor and surprises will therefore be the protagonists of the opening of the fair in the park of the exhibition centre.
