Proper land use planning
The Spanish Minister Francesco Lollobrigida explains in an interview by Antonella Ambrosioni published today in Il Secolo d'Italia, that the changes to the law on the protection of wildlife heritage and hunting activities are aimed at correct planning of the territory. "The current situation of chaos and uncertainty does not give the right guarantees to anyone" declared the minister.
Untrue references
“On the web and social media, for a few days now, environmentalists and animal rights activists have been posting alarmist content depicting Italy as a huge shooting range. Poaching, hunting trips on the beaches, in other words hunting without limits of space and time. This false representation is fueled by celebrities and influencers who – together with associations – refer to the desire to change the law that regulates environmental protection and hunting activity: 157 of 1992. It's a shame that these references are simply not true: 'When you work on a law, many drafts circulate and in some cases even instrumental news items created on purpose'”.
Balanced intervention
Thus the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, who continues: "'The intervention - he assures - will be balanced and in Italy there will obviously never be a Wild West. The issue is very sensitive and Parliament will listen to all the parties involved. But those who govern have the duty to do even difficult things in the interest of all'".
