“Within the text of the Draft Law no. 164 "First 2021 legislative revision law", approved today in the Council, my amendments approved by the Agriculture Commission on the hunting theme. I also tabled another amendment that was approved in plenary during the sitting.
These are the results I have obtained for the hunting world:
- Rings for decoy birds: the check must be carried out by checking only the presence of the ring on the animal and respecting its well-being. Furthermore, the possibility of using plastic rings was decided, overcoming the obligation of metal ones which are very harmful to birds.
- sheds: simplification of the procedure for the ten-year renewal of authorizations. A simple card application will be enough to renew it for another 10 years. In addition, a 12-month extension of the authorizations of the huts expiring this year and in the hunting season 2022/23 was decided.
- sheds: the takeover of the ownership of a shed can be accepted even in the absence of the return of the previous paper authorization.
- Boars: there is the possibility to hunt the selected wild boar in all areas of the plains (ATC) even on snowy ground.
- ID card: there is the possibility of marking the head of game on the card after killing and retrieval.
- Live calls: the database of live recalls and the related sanction are suppressed.
- High visibility clothing: the obligation of the high visibility jacket and hat is eliminated for those who practice selection hunting. It can be replaced with any high visibility garment.
- Red areas: the possibility is foreseen of the establishment by the ATC / CAC of the red areas in which only hunting from fixed stalking and selection will be allowed (except in those areas for the protection of ungulates);
- Boar meat: it is allowed, up to a maximum of two animals per year, that the volunteer operator in control hunting takes home the head as a reward for the work done. ATC, CAC and managing bodies of protected areas can identify a CLS to which the wild boars collected in control can be transferred, thus avoiding the activation of the public evidence procedure for each animal.
- Change of form of hunting: a derogation is introduced at the deadline of March 31 for the change of the form of hunting for hunters who have not practiced hunting in the past year or years.
- sheds: exemption from the hydrogeological constraint procedure for the construction of fixed huts is envisaged.
- Dog training: dog training areas can last up to 10 years.
My commitment is aimed at the hunting world. Some procedures need to be streamlined in order to help organize the hunting seasons and all related practices. Lombardy's tradition in this field is centuries-old and it is up to the institutions to make legislation simpler. I thank the commissioner Rolfi for having accepted these needs ".
