I Luxembourg hunters they will have to deal with two prohibitions that have just become law, the one relating to fox hunting and the (partial) one concerning wild boars. As reported by the Luxemburger wort, the hunting association "Fédération Saint-Hubert" he protested and challenged the regulation introduced in recent days by the small Grand Duchy. Particularly, the ban was seen as a purely political decision, underlining how the envisaged measures are superfluous, ineffective, dangerous, as well as penalizing for hunters.
The Administrative Court clarified that it was not about politics, but about a normal interest in the common good. Lawmakers do not admit criticism and are sure that no mistake has been made: the judge also announced that "the hunters have not been able to clearly show that the number of foxes in Luxembourg has not been limited by hunting".
The reduction in the population of these animals was motivated by the lone worm, a justification considered invalid. However, the ban is temporary and could be stopped should the situation improve. In reverse it would be exacerbated in the event of a worsening. The judges also rejected the hunting community's complaint that hunters are more disadvantaged than other forest users.
