If there is a political force admittedly anti-hunt none is second to Movement 5 Stars, as claimed several times also in Beppe Grillo's blog and by various representatives. There is just over a month to go before the political elections and the pentastellato prime minister is Luigi Di Maio, capable of further "burning" the votes of hunters and shooters with the latest declarations. Speaking during the broadcast "On your side" on Rete 4, Di Maio addressed the safety issue speaking of the possibility of removing any type of weapons from Italian homes.
According to the candidate premier, personal safety should be managed by increasing the salaries of law enforcement, preventing private citizens from defending themselves with pistols or rifles. In this way, a tombstone would be placed on self-defense, much debated for years in Italy. It is not the first time that Di Maio has expressed himself in these terms on the subject. Already two years ago on their own Facebook profile this sentence was published: "A serious state, aware of the suffering of its community, should not allow a single individual to have all those weapons at home.".
The M5S rep, however, forgot the i a little too quickly almost 2 million Italians who signed the popular law proposal on strengthening self-defense, a sign that many citizens continue to ask loudly greater security in their homes. The disarmament wanted by Di Maio will end up further discontent the hunting world and that of the patrons of shooting ranges and shooting ranges, ready to vote for other parties.
