Eighth edition of the report
FACE has published its 8th Report on the Biodiversity Manifesto. The Biodiversity Manifesto FACE is a substantial database of hunting-related conservation projects, providing inspiration and strong evidence of how hunters contribute to habitat restoration, protected areas, species monitoring and much more.
The work of hunters
This report is based on 498 hunter conservation initiatives and highlights some of the best projects of 2022. In June 2022, the European Commission published the proposed Nature Restoration Law, the first piece of legislation ever to explicitly target the nature restoration in Europe. In light of the new proposal, this report focuses on the contributions of hunters to nature restoration.
Habitat restoration
The report highlights a wide range of relevant conservation projects such as habitat restoration activities in South Tyrol (Italy), saving the native pheasant of Greece, supporting the recovery of the Iberian lynx in Spain, conserving the common eider in Finland and black grouse in protected areas in Ireland (source: FIDC).
