A hunting trip ended in tragedy. On January 19, a 36-year-old died in Maremma following the charge of a boar which seriously injured him, to be precise in the woods of the nature reserve of Pigelleto of Piancastagnaio. The area in question is located between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena and the episode happened in the late morning.
According to the reconstruction, the wild would suddenly appear in front of man, without giving him time for a reaction. The attack of the ungulate resulted in the severing of thefemoral artery, a deep cut caused by the animal's fangs.
The batting mates received the latest radio message in which the victim hinted at how bad the situation was, so much from to sense that death was near. Despite the prompt intervention of the health workers and the Alpine Rescue, unfortunately there was nothing to be done. The man was a hitter and it seems that his father was also present on the spot, a detail that makes the news even more sad.
