Milan, May 8 2025 - “The conference organized today at Palazzo Pirelli was an important moment to update the alarming data on the extent of wolf predation activity on our territory, listening to zoologists, scholars, breeders and journalists: different experiences compared, but all aimed at bringing complete information also to those who, living in urban areas, do not have a perception of the reality of large carnivores and their impact on human activities”.
“The approval today in the European Parliament of the downgrading of the wolf's protection status is a step in the right direction (which we as the League have always hoped for and pursued), but now we must face together and without further delay the challenge of building a serious program that addresses the problem of containment, including controlled culling, in defense of those who, with their work in mountain farming and agriculture, contribute to keeping areas at risk of depopulation alive and safe”.
They declare this on the sidelines of today's conference “Beware of the Wolf. A comparison for correct management”, the regional councilors of the League Floriano Massardi, President of the Agriculture, Mountains and Forests Commission, and Silvana Snider, member of the Special Mountains Commission.
