Brambilla's PDL
Michela Vittoria Brambilla gets talked about again and, as happens when dealing with the honorable Lombard, the controversy is around the corner. In the last few hours, the former minister has officially presented his bill which bears the signature of another figure who is certainly not sympathetic to the hunting world, the former Environment Minister Sergio Costa. What is this PDL aiming for?
Sore point
Some parts of the proposal certainly have no reason to be criticized, such as the one which provides for more severe penalties in the event of the ill-treatment and killing of animals. The problem arises with the request for a specific fee to create facilities that house abused or abandoned pets. Who should pay this contribution? The answer is soon said.
Live calls
The amount would be paid by farmers, more specifically also those who raise animals for slaughter, for reproduction, for private domestic consumption, for the direct or mediated sale of live animals as well as for supply for experimentation". The same goes for those who "capture and keep wildlife, including birds to be used as live decoys" who should equally support this contribution.
I give Michela Brambilla a few lines from Maffeo Pantaleoni: “Any imbecile can invent and impose new taxes. The skill is to reduce expenses”.
"imbecile" is his term, I would never allow myself.
