Capture and equipment
The ACMA (Aquatic Migratory Hunters Association) has provided new interesting updates on coots. Here's what you wrote in the last few hours: "Finally, even one of the coots captured and equipped with the satellite in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia has left for the migration towards the breeding grounds."
Previous news
The note continues: “The current tendency for the coot to be a short/medium range migrant is confirmed. We'll see if some will move further away." Even a few days ago the ACMA itself had made known some interesting news regarding this migration.
The situation in Veneto
Below we report the press release from March 5th: “VENETO 14 has recently left for the pre-nuptial migration. We will then be able to monitor her for two full breeding seasons if she continues to report. This coot has currently settled in an area of fishponds about 15 km from the exact point where it was last year."
