Hunting and Migration. The Federcaccia YouTube channel has been enriched with a new video that will not fail to arouse the interest of all migratory enthusiasts and nature lovers.
In fact, the video shows the monitoring operations of the avifauna migratory conducted by Federcaccia Vicenza in collaboration with the Provincial Police of Vicenza as part of the pre-Alpine crossing project promoted by the Veneto Region, Veneto Agriculture and supported by the FIdC Bird Migration Office.
The monitoring system in the passes was already proposed by the European Commission in 2005 as a useful method for estimating the passerine populations to be implemented precisely with the involvement of the hunting world. The data collected will provide important information over time on the distribution and consistency of the birds studied, helping to affirm the naturalistic value of the territory, in this case the Veneto one.
In fact, the migration of birds represents a very delicate moment in their lives and now, thanks to an investigation commissioned by the Veneto Region, much more will be known about it. Observation points are distributed between the Mesole and Ristele passes in the eastern margins of the Giazza State Forest, between the municipalities of Recoaro and Crespadoro (VI), considered to be among the most important migratory passages in the Veneto.
The seasonal and periodic movements of large flocks of birds are concentrated on precise routes, so-called "flyways", which are the result of a long selection and made up of routes and passages that optimize the yields and efforts of the birds that make them.
