Sightings and first warnings
As has been happening for some time, the Provincial Hunting Federation of Brescia has updated the situation of the migratory step relative to one's area: "Migration numbers have been declining for a few days now, especially among those in our Alpine valleys. Song thrush numbers are decreasing, but there are still some good numbers of blackbirds and redwings, and the first signs of fieldfare."
The month of October
"In fact, forty days have passed since the hunting season opened, and October, the prime month for migratory bird expectations, has not disappointed. Now, alongside the chaffinches, good numbers of bramblings are passing through, appearing on beech trees and other trees in our woods in more than decent numbers, in addition to the usual robins."
The next days
"Obviously, our hunters' attention is focused entirely on the redwing, which usually peaks in our latitudes in the first half of November. The fact that we've already had some early numbers of fieldfares also gives us hope for the remainder of the hunting season. We've also seen some good numbers of woodcocks, which will make dogs and hunters dream." (Source: FIDC Brescia)
