The association ANUUMigrators has published a new update on the winter migration pass with a note that sees Cesene as protagonists again. After the sudden snowfall eight days ago in upper Europe, the species flew in the direction of the high hill areas of Northern Italy, in addition to the Central Apennines. Furthermore, the presence of these birds has been reported in a rather consistent manner, as has not happened for years now.
The presence must in any case become constant before confirming a successful migration start, to be taken again with the benefit of the doubt. The ANUU underlined how the habits of the cesena are known and after the positive beginnings it usually makes itself desired up to the ascent towards the nesting places. The turdid tends to become erratic to seek food in the territories it deems best.
In the last week at the FEIN Ornithological Observatory of Arosio (Como) other bottacci and stone thrushes have been ringed, without forgetting the very first brambles, until now almost absent together with frosoni, finches and siskins. The presence of sparrow, pipit and blackbird was judged positive, while they appeared aquatic like snipe. Finally, as regards woodcock and wood pigeon, there is nothing relevant to note.
