Cancel Sunday from regional hunting calendar to protect the safety of citizens, tourists and hikers. He asks Gianluca Sassi of the mixed group, which calls on the junta to limit hunting areas and prohibit the most dangerous events, such as wild boar hunts, towards the goal of a ban on hunting throughout the region. “Accidents with serious, sometimes even fatal, consequences occur during the hunting season all the time - explains the councilor of the mixed group. The latest case last September 22 in Faenza where a man, convinced that he was shooting an animal, actually hit three people who were working in an orchard. Just a few days earlier another extremely disturbing case in Cesena, where an 8-year-old boy had been literally shot ”.
Sassi therefore underlines the "serious risks" that both resident citizens and those who choose to spend holiday periods in Emilia-Romagna would run. “A similar management of hunting, modeled mainly for the needs of hunters - remarks the councilor of the mixed group - inevitably conflicts with other regional policies, including those in the tourism sector”. Recently the Minister of the Environment and of the Protection of the Territory and the Sea took a position on the subject and launched an appeal asking the Regions to immediately change the current calendar and to at least block hunting trips on Sundays, when woods and mountains are populated even more by hikers, by those who go to mushrooms or chestnuts and those who want to spend a day in nature.
For this Sassi asks the council to accept the Minister's appeal and to cancel Sunday from the regional hunting calendar with immediate effect. He then asks the regional executive if "it does not deem the need to adequately protect the safety and the free and safe use of the regional territory, citizens and, specifically, farmers, families, tourists and hikers, by limiting the areas hunting and prohibiting the most dangerous events, such as hunting wild boar hunting, directing its actions towards the objective of a ban on hunting on the entire regional territory ".
