Roe deer crosses the road: chain accident between four cars. The episode that happened last night shortly after 18pm is yet another demonstration of how often wild animals venture into the plains with considerable risks for themselves but also for the road traffic. The incident happened in the Pederiva area, almost on the border with Crocetta, near the Casa Brusada restaurant, where a roe deer has crossed via Erizzo. Impossible, for a car arriving at that moment, to be able to avoid the impact, that it was very violent.
The roe deer, who died instantly, was thrown to the opposite side of the roadway, where another vehicle was arriving which in turn took it in full. A third vehicle attempted to brake, but ended up being hit by a fourth vehicle. The accident caused not a few inconveniences to the road system since, in a rush hour, suddenly the road was occupied by two of the four vehicles, which were not able to distribute, as well as from the carcass of the roe deer, a specimen weighing about 20 chili, for the recovery of which a specialized company from the Province was sent, while the tow truck moved the cars.
On the spot intervened, for the findings, the Montebelluna carabinieri. The incident, unfortunately from the sad ending, if only for the animal, however, represents only one of the cases that have occurred in the city in recent times. And not only. In mid-October, for example, at 5.20 in the morning Gianmichele Pasa, esteemed ice cream maker from Biadene, while passing along the old Feltrina he was faced with nothing less than a deer. An image which, at first, not even he had believed.
The ungulate looked around in fear while he was passing from the center of Biadene towards Montello and had probably come out of some private property that has specimens of this type inside enclosures. For many years now, moreover, on Montello there is no trace of fallow deer. On the other hand, there is no shortage of deer, roe deer and some wild boar. And while there are frequent reports relating to the presence of wild boars in hilly areas, there are, however, those relating to the passage of deer also in the plains (Il Gazzettino).
