Today saw the first hunter seriously injured during a wild boar hunt that was taking place in the territory of municipality of Orvieto. Fortunately, also thanks to the sense of responsibility that distinguishes true hunters, the current season seems to be passing without worrying critical issues, without particularly serious accidents and above all without victims.
Despite this, I want to address the recommendation to all Italian hunters to take every precaution in the possession and transport of weapons and to use, always and in any case, the utmost prudence, remembering that it is better to think not twice but ten times before exploding a blow which could cause serious damage to people, animals and things. Modern hunting - despite the incessant accusations from animal rights activists and anti-hunting activists - is increasingly responsible and aware of playing a very important role for society and true hunters are now extremely trained bio-regulators.
We therefore continue to behave with the most rigorous respect for safety distances, with the utmost correctness and, above all, with absolute prudence. In expressing the most sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured man, I wish everyone the most cordial "Good luck" (Paolo Sparvoli - ANLC president).
