Large-scale data
Federcaccia invites all hunters to actively participate in the collection of wings from slaughtered heads of some speciesThis simple action represents a fundamental contribution to the study and monitoring of wild species. Only through the commitment of the hunting community is it possible to collect data on a large scale and consistently over time.
The species studied
Wing analysis provides insights into population structure, reproductive success, and sex ratios, contributing to the conservation of the studied species. Proper wildlife management relies on scientific knowledge, and hunters are key players in this process. Each wing donated is a valuable contribution to safeguarding hunting and understanding the demographic evolution of migratory birds; this should be our primary goal as hunters. Federcaccia has been pursuing this activity for over 10 years.
