La Regional Council of Basilicata officially approved the new directives on the management of wild boar from the faunal-hunting point of view. The main focus remains that of protect agricultural crops and people's safety, trying to adjust the number of ungulates in the Lucanian territory. The main innovations include, for example, the division into management districts and batting areas, the high visibility clothing that hunters will have to wear and participation in the hunting trip for at least two thirds of the permitted period.
The management will be more uniform and there will be no distinctions as has happened so far, in particular between the various Territorial Areas of Hunting. What the Region considers a significant novelty is the share of revenues deriving from the collection of wild boar for encourage killing. Soon, then, there will be a text that will modify the number and specific tasks of the ATCs.
The aforementioned management districts will have a size not exceeding 10 thousand hectares, while the target areas will be between 300 and 500 hectares. Scopes will be able to associate no more than two boar hunting teams, so that there are no more than 20 units in an area. Moreover, the foreman and his deputy must have been enrolled in beltlai teams for at least five years: they will have the task of managing and directing the joke, communicating the number of slaughtered animals, gender and collection area.
