A request ignored
From reading the joint statement signed by the regional presidencies of Federcaccia, Liberacaccia, Enalcaccia, Anuu Migratoristi commenting on the open letter of Archicaccia Marche, released after the discussion on the proposed regional hunting calendar for 2024-2025, we learn that Arcicaccia's request to the bureaus of the regional Avs to take responsibility for resigning in the face of negative consequences on the next hunting season deriving from their choices was completely ignored. This time the question is asked by Arcicaccia: «Are you more interested in the “armchairs” or in the fate of hunting in the Marche region?». To avoid any misunderstanding, we reiterate it a second time: to demonstrate the seriousness with which Arcicaccia Marche carries out its ideas, the regional president Gabriele Sperandio (a predominantly migratory hunter incidentally) will resign from office if "your" calendar does not suffer any limitation in the face of reasoned sentences from the TAR or the Council of State.
Calendars and scientific studies
To be extremely clear, and first of all with the hunters, we also point out that Arcicaccia, unlike other associations, does not provide any remuneration for any associative position (including the national presidency) and even less does it pay technicians to produce studies, often conditioned by a thinking far from reality, with the aim of wanting at all costs to systematically deny the data provided by the National Scientific Institute (Ispra) and the international scientific community, with the consequent disconnection and worsening of relations with all social partners. Without ever having had an economic return, Arcicaccia and his scientific committee, faithful to the ideas that inspire the association and committing themselves on a daily basis on a voluntary basis, simply fight to build useful relationships for hunting, in the interests of the hunters, of the hunting activity and biodiversity. Do you want to bring the same "scientific studies" used to motivate last year's hunting calendar in Emilia Romagna to support your calendar proposals? Why, then, don't you inform the hunters that in that region, as in others, despite using your much acclaimed scientific motivations, migratory hunters had to clean their rifles on December 31st? Do you want to re-propose the same film to hunters in the Marche region?
Passion without a hitch
Arcicaccia does not maintain, as is often said, that the restrictions imposed by the Birds Directive and the Key concepts are not excessively prudential, but they are and, all things considered, until they are updated, they must be respected to try to avoid blocks or limitations on the calendar and allow hunters to exercise their passion smoothly until the last possible day. The issue is resolved in Europe, not in the Marche. The hunting calendar cannot be hung on the hope of a "non-appeal" or a favorable administrative ruling. During the next hunting season (2024/2025), just to give an example, the woodcock could have been hunted until January 20th without any risk of early closure, by virtue of the monitoring organized and conducted over the last two years on the species (as requested by Ispra). But no! Federcaccia, Liberacaccia, Enalcaccia, Anuu Migratoristi wanted and demanded the closure on January 31st (not Arcicaccia!) entrusting the calendar to the TAR. And if it then happens as it happened in Emilia Romagna, in all likelihood we hunters from the Marche would see the woodcock season end on December 31st. The same thing applies to the time frame exceeded for wood pigeon and some ducks. Either pre-opening or hunting until January 31st, this is the choice to make, not others useful only to sell smoke and deceive hunters. Everything is not possible and it is not Arcicaccia who says it, but the Constitutional Court, the TAR, the Council of State, i.e. the law.
The goal of Arci Caccia
So, essentially, what would be your much-vaunted battles in support of hunting and hunters? Arcicaccia instead of selling smoke, he prefers to listen to the voice of the hunters: those who contacted us asked first of all to make the next hunting season safe by avoiding early interruptions. Arcicaccia does not ignore the value of institutions, nor that of rules, but tries, through good relationships, based on honesty and respect, to build a network of connections useful to his mandate in the interests of hunting. Let's let the facts speak for themselves: Ispra's opinion regarding the additional days of surveillance in the last Marche calendar was positive and arrived just three days after the request; this allowed the Region to make a new resolution to reintroduce the second day of surveillance in the months of October and November 2023. Of course, this was not a result obtained thanks to the "good relations" of some associations with the institutions. The objective of Arcicaccia Marche is therefore always the same. By valorising all hunts as much as possible, within the existing regulatory framework, our association aims not only at the stability of the hunting calendar, but also at the best hunting management of wild and problematic species, as well as at the conservation of our wonderful hunting territories. hunting. Let's unite hunters on these issues. We are here and you?
