A wolf has been spotted again near the primary school of Pozza di Fassa, generating concern among residents and local authorities. The specimen was taken by a resident who was walking with the child in the stroller and then moved along the cycle path towards Pera. Experts believe it could be the same wolf that was spotted in January near a mother with her son in a pram.
The Trentino Forestry Corps intervened to remove the animal using rubber ammunition, after it had been reported by some inhabitants of Pera di Fassa. It is believed that this is the same wolf that has shown non-bashful behavior in the area in the past and has been the subject of previous attempts at dissuasion.
La Province of Trento reiterated the invitation not to attract wild animals to urban or mountain areas, to prevent them from losing their natural distrust towards human beings. The safety of residents and respect for wildlife remain crucial issues in these situations of encounters between humans and wild nature.
