Due to the adverse weather forecast scheduled for Friday 1st February, the theoretical course on the census with the pointing dog on snipe and whisk a Novara is postponed by a week, Friday 8 February 2019, starting from 20. The venue will be that of the Novarese Agricultural Foundation Conference Room. The Novara 2 Sesia Hunting Territorial Area and the Novarese Canine Group have organized together with Snipe Club and at Federcaccia this training course on monitoring snipe and whisk with pointing dogs.
The lecturers of the course will be Giorgio Ferrato, Daniel Tramontana and Michele Sorrentthe. The course is divided into a theoretical lesson to obtain the qualification. The main topics that each operator must know for proper monitoring will be illustrated. Specifically, it deals with the recognition and biology of snipe and whisk, the organization of winter waterfowl censuses, of the practical aspects concerning the conduct of the pointing dog and ten practical tests for the census of each participant.
In the latter case, the calendar includes the months of January, February and March in wet areas and witness areas. The lessons are expected to be very interesting and useful, so all that remains is to wait for the next few days for the actual development.
