Yesterday, Wednesday 5 October 2016, there was a serious hunting accident in Turin. An elderly hunter (no details of his age have yet been provided by law enforcement: he should still be over 70 years old) was found dead along the path that leads to the ADVANCED hut, at over two thousand meters above sea level. The discovery was made by a breeder (a margaro as they are called in Piedmont) of Val Cenischia.
The body had been watched over for several hours by the victim's hunting dog, a detail that made this death even sadder. The man's alarm was raised in the afternoon, therefore it is assumed that the accident occurred a few hours earlier. The body was then transported by helicopter rescue to the morgue of the Susa hospital, thanks to the collaboration of the Carabinieri and the Alpine Rescue.
The dynamics are not yet clear, but the hypothesis of an accidental shot to the head from the same hunter's rifle, therefore a fatality. The case is being investigated by local law enforcement agencies. The elder was a resident of Sant'Antonino di Susa.
