On the morning of July 13 in Rome, the Army Chief of Staff, General Claudio Graziano, in the presence of the President of CONI Gianni Petrucci, received the athletes of the Army Olympic Sports Center who qualified for the XXX edition at Palazzo Esercito. of the Olympic Games that will take place in London starting from next July 27 to say good luck to them.
"The qualification of 25 Army athletes for the Olympic Games" said the Head of SME "has a very important meaning for us not only because these athletes are soldiers, but also because being a soldier involves sharing the values of the sport, as discipline, honesty, courage and respect for the opponent ".
After wishing "all the Italian athletes, and in particular those of the Army, a warm good luck", General Graziano thanked them and the technicians for their commitment and the enormous sacrifices made to reach the area finish line.
President Petrucci congratulated General Graziano for the efforts made by the Army, and in particular by its Sports Center, stating how the collaboration between CONI, Sports Federations, Armed Forces and Armed Corps of the State has contributed significantly to the growth of Italian sport.
