For sixteen years the Tuscan park of the Apuan Alps organizes the census of the mouflons present in this regional natural area. The business has begun in 2003 and now there is a need for volunteers for the new surveys. The population must be constantly monitored through an appropriate observation from points considered favorable. On 10 and 11 May there will be this count which is a tradition of the spring period: the Park has decided to extend, as always, the invitation to any collaborators who want to be of help to expert staff.
There will be two sessions, namely the one at sunset (10 May 2019) and the one atSunrise (May 11, 2019). Furthermore, it will focus on some specific areas, namely the Corchia and Pania della Croce mountains. For the various collaborators there will be the opportunity to stay overnight in a refuge, without forgetting the instructions and coordination managed by the park rangers.
Other very important observation points will be those near the entrance to the Antro del Corchia. Any participation must be completed by sending an e-mail message to the e-mail address [email protected] (by May 3rd). The selection will take place in chronological order and until all places have been filled. The only two requisites that you will need to be in possession of are a passion for nature and a good binoculars.
