In just over a month, Florence will host the International Conference on Woodcock, an important event that was organized by FANBPO (Federation of National Western Palearctic Woodcock Associations). Villa La Stella will therefore welcome the event, scheduled for Saturday 17nd June, a moment of study, knowledge and stimulating exchange of information on the world of this bird and its hunting in Italy and beyond the border.
The topics to talk about are different. In particular, there will be room for useful measures to counter the "black" market and the woodcock post, but also for the Key concepts and the European legislation on the opening and closing of hunting for the species. Furthermore, the conference was organized to deepen the activities of hunters in Italian and European territory, in order to understand what needs to be done for the conservation and monitoring of woodcock.
In addition, the woodcock will have the opportunity to know the current nesting trend and the main problems concerning the breeding sites. The high-density content will be guaranteed by the presence of hunting associations, institutions (including theISPRA) and environmental associations.
