Mr Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of Lombardy (Brothers of Italy), deepened on Facebook the wild boar emergency in the Milanese area: “Rozzano is just a few minutes from Milan. Yet, even here, wild boars are alarmed: there have been several sightings of ungulates running around everywhere, cause damage and attack dogs. That they are at the gates of a large metropolis makes us understand how far we have come and how serious the problem is. By now they have taken possession of the territory and given that animal rights goodism reigns it will not be easy to get rid of it. In recent weeks in two different road accidents both in Pieve Emanuele, also at the gates of Milan, two large boars had been involved, parents of a litter of at least 8 young.
The two animals died and the cars that hit them were destroyed. The litter lived wandering around the surrounding area. I turn to the Milanese, which were rightly not prepared for this type of problem: unfortunately, the emergency now also affects large cities and should not be underestimated. We are talking about danger for people, who risk their lives if they find themselves in front of an 80kg beast, just as if they cross it in a car.
We are talking about damage, attacks on pets and health alarm. As regional councilor I have dedicated a large part of my work to the containment of wild animals and now this commitment must also be transferred to Milan. Do not hope that the problem will resolve itself: it is now too extensive ".
Excuse me Councilor Mazzali, but the nearby Ticino Park does NOT tell you anything ??????
