The decisions of the Milan TAR leave the Lombard windmills and hunters astonished. We have seen and are witnessing a series of appeals to the TARs from all over Italy by animal-environmental associations. It reaches the point that a decision concerning the more than 60 thousand Lombard hunters is discussed on the merits on Thursday 16 July 2020, thus compromising the hunting season !!! Without prejudice to the possibility and opportunity of resorting to the Council of State, it is necessary to become aware of that strategy in place aimed at reducing the hunting passion to a reduced, debased, humiliated activity and therefore devoid of content and future.
Faced with this scenario, in my opinion, one cannot passively witness what is happening against the passion for hunting and those who want to practice it in compliance with the laws, with dignity and pride. I, as a citizen, hunter, and MEP, I am not, as I think all Italian hunters and the hunting associations that represent them are of this opinion.
In addition to the courts, there are Regions, such as Puglia, which while acknowledging the sentence of the Council of State, have collected the requests of the anti-hunt associations and ISPRA so I wonder where you want to get in perspective, with a government that has as Relative majority party the Movimento5Stelle which has among its priorities the closing of the Caccia.
Finally, I would like to remind you that there are plans and bills in parliament, among which the modification of article art. 842 of the cod. and the prohibition of the use of live calls. I therefore believe that we should not linger long in undertaking initiatives aimed at counteracting this anti-hunt strategy in every way before it is too late.
