Sunday 20 September at the start of the hunting in Emilia-Romagna. A deadline expected by about 35 Emilian-Romagna hunters, who were able to learn the rules of the regional hunting calendar as early as March. There are a total of 37 species that can be hunted in the Emilia-Romagna area.
"I address an invitation to hunters to scrupulously respect the rules for hunting in complete safety, but also an exhortation to the Provinces, territorial hunting areas and wildlife-hunting companies to put in place all the tools to contain the damage to wildlife to agriculture ". So Simona Caselli, Regional Councilor for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing, on the occasion of the opening of the 2015-2016 hunting season.
The calendar confirms the choices of the previous one: sustainable and compatible with the environment, according to the indications of national law and community directives. The collection of ungulates, which follows a different articulation, has already been possible for some time, as well as the selection hunt for wild boar which began on April 15th, while the collective hunt will begin on October 1st.
So the boar - responsible for most of the damage to agricultural production - it can be hunted for more than 9 months a year. "I hope - added the commissioner Caselli - a strong commitment of hunters to use all the opportunities offered by the calendar to contain damage to agriculture".
Again for this year, hunting is allowed on the basis of the individual provincial calendars pending a different discipline following the transfer of competences on the matter to the Emilia-Romagna Region.
