UNA Foundation - Man, Nature, Environment – communicates the results achieved so far by the Operation Paladini del Territorio, its most representative project, which has reached its fourth edition in 2025, and confirms the consistently excellent response in terms of participation. Even in the spring months, Hunters from all over Italy have mobilized to organize various types of volunteer initiatives, from the maintenance of green areas to the removal of waste from the environment and up to the commitment made in dissemination and education activities aimed at schools and the younger generations, demonstrating, once again, what the reality of the contemporary hunting community, inserted into the social fabric, active in its own territory and protecting the environment and natural balances.
Thanks to the efforts made, in addition 9 thousand kg of waste have been removed from the environment, much of it hazardous waste, and dozens of green areas in14 regions have benefited from the restoration work carried out by UNA volunteers. In addition 20 initiatives They were organized in order to raise awareness among local communities on environmental and wildlife issues, or with the intent of promoting a deeper environmental education among the younger generations.
“Operation Paladini del Territorio organizes all the initiatives that see hunters dedicating themselves to their community, with the aim of enhancing their social impact, which is real and important, but which is not talked about enough” said Maurizio Zipponi, President of the UNA Foundation. “The Paladini's activity reflects the care that the hunting community has always shown towards its chosen territory, and we are proud to expand, year after year, the perimeter of our project to meet the real needs of the citizens who live in those territories every day”.
In 2025, with the project fully matured, Fondazione UNA wanted to strengthen the bond between the hunting community and the territories of reference, opening the possibility of requesting the intervention of volunteers through the counter Paladins of the Territory. A tool created following a careful listening to the needs of individual territories and already operational during the first months of 2025, the desk is present on Foundation website and open to anyone who needs the support of the hunters.
Through this project, the UNA Foundation further substantiates its concrete commitment to environmental protection, reaffirmed over the years through its membership in partnerships such as IUCN,International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Mountain Partnership – FAO, the official United Nations partnership dedicated to improving the lives of mountain people and protecting mountain environments around the world.
Also for this fourth edition, the initiative can count on the decisive support from the member hunting associations - Federcaccia, Enalcaccia and Arcicaccia – who have activated their own clubs throughout the country to promote and carry out various volunteer activities.
