La lagoon of S'Ena Arrubia, about 300 ha in province of Oristano, is a wetland protected since the 70s in compliance with the various national and international conventions and regulations that have followed one another over time. In the last meeting of Provincial Wildlife Committee the opportunity of extending the constraints to the area facing the Canale del Diversivo di Sant'Anna was also discussed, as requested by the Lipu and other environmental associations. The area affected by the proposal is between very few remained free to the aquatic hunting exercise in the province, where the tradition of this form of hunting is strong.
Federcaccia di Oristano, present at the meeting, once again expressed a negative opinion on this hypothesis, explaining how the study commissioned by Province of Oristanohas already highlighted numerous and serious problems in which the lagoon of S'Ena Arrubia currently lies.
The vote, at the end of the speeches, was contrary to the proposed extension of the oasis of S'Ena Arrubia, but pressure continues to make this happen anyway, even if it is evident that the main motivation remains that of precluding other territory from hunting without a concrete intention of environmental protection of the area. On the part of the Federcaccia, attention remains high on the problem and the firm intention not to give in to operations intervention on the territory that have no real and inalienable reasons for protecting the environment and fauna.
