A weekend of great cynophilia
It took place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June at the “MONNA PICA” type “B” Dog Training Area in Fiuggi (FR) the national final of the 55th Italian Championship “Trofeo S. Uberto a Squadre. Saturday was characterized by a copious rain in the middle of the morning which created difficulties for the competitors and their assistants and for the judges engaged in the heats. Sunday went well with some sunshine, which allowed the Championship to be concluded in the best possible way. Thanks for the organization go to the entire structure of the provincial section FIdC of Frosinone, as well as to Daniela Iovine and Mauro Frasi for the care and attention with which they fulfilled the not simple secretarial work, reserving cordiality to all present and attention.
The game used
The test took place on four competition fields using partridges and partridges as game which showed some indecision on Saturday, thanks to the bad weather, to make up for it on Sunday, when they put competitors and dogs to the test. The jury, made up of Giovanni De Luca (Puglia), Angelo Longo (Lazio), Paolo Pini (Emilia Romagna) and Dennis Zuccarini (Abruzzo) assessed the competitors in an impartial and satisfactory manner. In fact, the work of the judges was greatly appreciated by all the participants, who did not object to the official nature of the final classification of the four heats of the two days of competition. With great satisfaction, the secretariat registered the presence of 36 teams with a total of 144 competitors, confirming this edition as certainly one of the most attended if not the most attended ever in the history of San Uberto.
World Championship
Present at the event were the National Delegate for sporting activities Aldo Pompetti, the Coordinator and national manager of S. Uberto pointing dogs Luigi Chiappetta, the national manager for hunting dogs Alberto Dandolo and the selector for the 2023 World Cup Fabrizio Muccioli. At the end of the two days of competition, spent as always in the name of the healthiest competitive spirit and friendship, the delegate Cosimo Colucci expressed his thanks to all the competitors who took part for the great respect and sportsmanship shown, the provincial FIdC section of Frosinone in the person of its Provincial President Alessandro Filippi and all those who with great commitment supported and contributed to the success of the 55th Italian S. Uberto Team Championship. As per the regulation, the highest score in the event gives the possibility of access to the selection of the World Championship and was the prerogative of a joint score of 87 points by Norman Rota and Elio Mascheretti (source: FIDC).
