The legal sentences of our country often bring out particular situations, first of all when dealing with the hunting license. A man who turned to the Regional Administrative Court of Umbria knows this well, after the Police Headquarters had revoked this document for a truly incredible reason: the possession of a paddle similar to those used by law enforcement at checkpoints.
Offence statute-barred
In short, this person was convicted 12 years ago for possession of counterfeit trademarks: “He was illegally in possession of a signalling paddle with characteristics that did not conform to those indicated by the Highway Code, i.e. bearing the logo of the Italian Republic in the centre and therefore simulating the function of those supplied to the police force.“The crime then became time-barred, but the hunting license was still avoided.
The judges' doubts
The man's lawyers have focused precisely on the statute of limitations and on the fact that there has been no violent or aggressive behavior over time. However, the TAR judges have rejected the appeal with these reasons: "The affair raises significant doubts regarding the reliability of a particularly delicate matter such as the possession and use of weapons, in which, according to consolidated jurisprudence, an impeccable conduct of life is required.".
