A summer event but already very heartfelt
The lead-up to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games comes to life. The Secretary General of Fitav Mario Magnanini flew to France to visit the National Shooting Center of Chateauroux, home of the Five Rings competitions for the Skeet shooting and target shooting. Leading the CONI Delegation is Alessio Palombi, Director of Olympic Preparation, also accompanied by Walter Giusti, Uitis General Secretary, Edoardo Tremadio, member of the CONI Olympic Preparation Staff, and Luigi Miracco, UITS Technical Office.
Logistics options and more
The inspection of the facility served to verify the progress of the works and to evaluate the different logistical options relating to the accommodation of athletes and technicians, also in preparation for the visit of the Technical Directors of shooting and clay pigeon shooting.
The current situation
“The works are progressing and everything will certainly be ready within the scheduled time – commented Magnanini – Unfortunately, the logistical and organizational difficulties linked to the distance (over 250 km, ed.) from Paris remain. Fortunately, both CONI and the ISSF, International Shooting Sports Federation, are addressing the problem and identifying the best solutions."
