New emotions and adventures? No, only problems
This season is not a harbinger of new emotions and adventures, but rather of problems and unknowns. As a technical sector, it is not our custom to comment on political, legal or administrative events, but rather to work, even quietly, to pursue our goals. Times have changed and social media require timely and constant exposure, we still prefer the field to the media, in the end it is the facts that bring results... which for now are lacking. After the tragicomic situation in Lombardy and the Veneto (soon other regional calendars will also be sentenced) we have never stopped and also through Federcaccia we have expressed ourselves with determination to be able to save what can be saved. As a FIDC sector specialized in hunting waterfowl we VOLUNTARILY and FREELY take care of collecting scientific and historical data in the interest of our passion and above all of the avifauna itself.
An unsustainable situation
It is not our responsibility and certainly not very productive to start protests or make decisions independently, certainly (if it were necessary to repeat it) this situation DOES NOT FIT US, we are first of all hunters and only then "responsible" hunters ... when you stay at home we stay at home too and all the initiatives to assert ourselves find us participants. In recent years our hunting and more generally migratory (which like it or not is still the most practiced hunting in Italy) has been hit by strong and often unjustified limitations in terms of time (especially in closing dates), in species with specific regulations or even bans such as the lapwing, the pochard, the ruff and partly the tufted duck and last but not least the use of live decoys (rings and avian). So how can this situation be resolved? How can we overcome the frustration of those who see their scientific research, which requires considerable physical and economic commitment, be belittled by judges who in our opinion are influenced by pro-animalist tendencies and who can decide at their own discretion without being technically and socially responsible for it, or even more so, blur the work and preparation of sites and recalls for years from one day to the next?
The answer? It's not simple.
There is no single and simple answer, but it is clear that in recent years the hunting world is not having the necessary political weight to assert its reasons and rights. We have never pulled the wool over the eyes of those who follow us and we will not do so now. The main solution remains the political one, but the management of wildlife can only be technical and scientific! All you can do and we can do is collect data and push for the necessary regulatory changes at a national level to be implemented, we ask this first of all as citizens and then as hunters. The scientific data are there, the solutions are there, the hunting associations are there (even if it may seem like it to some)…. all that is missing is the will to implement all this on the part of politics! Patience is full… but We will not give up!!! Once again in the duck's beak for everyone. PS: In Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna everything went well… a coincidence??? (source: ACMA).
