The Carabinieri of the Company of Vigevano (in the province of Pavia) they identified a 40-year-old hunter and reported it on the loose on charges of aggravated damage. As reported by The Province of Pavia, the events took place in Cassolnovo. The 40-year-old was planning to go to duck hunting and to have a personal reserve close to home he did not hesitate to spoil the cultivated land of a 56-year-old, transforming it into a real swamp.
The farmer had not been warned and now there will be two trials, the civil one and the criminal one, given that damage must be precisely quantified. The 40-year-old works as a worker and the discovery of the flooded field took place last August. The hunter had managed to open the bulkheads of the irrigation canals, forever ruining the harvest. During the report to the military, the 56-year-old had not provided any name, as he had no suspicions of anyone for such an action.
Le video surveillance images were essential to trace the culprit. The justification of the manager was incredible: he didn't think he had done anything wrong and explained that the ducks would have approached more easily seeing a body of water. The farmer was forced to clean up the field and will now submit the invoice for the work carried out, in particular the diesel used to run a dewatering pump.
