Gianluca Vignale, director of Forza Italia in the regional council of Piedmont, announced the start of the discussion of the new hunting law: the memories of the categories involved were also presented, which will be examined by Third Commission Advise over the next few months. As pointed out by Vignale, requests for meetings to talk about this important legislative text have increased e clarify the less clear aspects. The councilor said he was ready to face together with the citizens what is a "Strategic moment for Piedmontese hunting". In his view, meetings of this type are essential for several reasons.
First of all, the moment is decisive for Piedmont which must not only have a brand new law, but, as noted by the councilor, "A good law", a regulatory text that allows hunting to take place at least as happens in other parts of Italy. In addition, in the coming weeks there will be the expected publication of the hunting calendar relating to the 2016-2017 season. According to Vignale it will be the umpteenth occasion in which the number of huntable species will be reduced, namely the ptarmigan, the variable hare and the lark.
As a result, in the last two years there have become five species that can no longer be hunted in the northern region (the coot and the wigeon should also be included in the list): this situation translates into an overall decrease in hunting periods and another decrease, that of the daily and seasonal game bag. Another aspect, reported after the two just mentioned but no less important, it is the need to re-insert in the hunting law the objectives that had been achieved in the past, that is the distance for hunters on those roads where there is the prohibition set by regional law number 32. Vignale has chosen to take advantage of all the useful suggestions of hunters: the scheduled meetings will take place throughout the provincial territory.
The dates are soon to be announced. It will start next March 31 in Pinerolo (at the Salone dei Cavalieri in Via Giolitti), then it will be the turn of Rivarolo (8 April), bussoleno (14 April), Carignano (21 April), Lanzo (April 28), with the final appointment set in Turin on May 2. The starting time will always be the same, 20:30. The councilor's note ends with a wish: it is essential as never before that the world of hunters make their voices heard, an invitation addressed not only as a politician and institutional exponent, but also and above all as a hunter, an identity highlighted with pride.
