The day of tomorrow, Saturday 1st October 2016, will be historic for Piedmontese hunters, as underlined in a note by the regional section of the Italian Federation of Hunting. In fact, the hunting of migratory birds, including the aquatic ones. After many years of prohibition and the consequent penalization of hunters, in fact, it will be possible to go hunting for nine species of migratory birds, that means wigeon, gadwall, shoveler, pintail, garganey, coot, water rail, whisk and lapwing.
The intervention of Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, ANUUMigratoristi and Libera Caccia itself was fundamental in this sense, as well as the motivations that were made available byMigratory Birdlife Office, since it was possible to demonstrate how illegitimate the ban was.
The Piedmont Region intends to pass a law to fix this prohibition, but the hunting associations are ready to avoid such a situation, given that is in contrast with what is written by the Constitution (changes to the law on huntable species are the responsibility of the state). The opening of tomorrow is therefore very important: according to Federcaccia Piemonte, in this way "All Italian hunters are shown that it is possible to change penalizing situations for the better".
