THETerritorial area of Pistoia hunting 11 approved a resolution for the management of roe deer and red deer in its own territory. Some hunting and agricultural associations have lashed out against the decision and for the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters the contents of the document have not been fully understood. In this territory the hunting modalities have provoked some imbalances in deer sampling, as underlined by the Pistoia ATC.
In practice, the culls of adult males were concentrated in the non-suitable areas, while in those suited the main culls were those of female specimens. With regard to roe deer, however, the resolution of the Tuscan area has highlighted how the area of Montalbano has the same characteristics of Tuscan areas suited to the species. The almost total lack of damage then indicated one unproblematic presence of the species.
CCT also added new criticisms to the Objective Law, unsuitable for managing the typical specificities of an articulated region such as Tuscany (from a hunting and conservation point of view). The news of the request to close the roe deer hunting in the unsuitable areas of the Pistoiese it is totally unfounded. The impression is that the controversy on this topic will continue for a long time over the next few weeks.
