Poaching: in Ficarazzi, in the province of Palermo, the Carabinieri found and saved a bird of prey of the Poiana species wounded by hunting pellets.
In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Ficarazzi station, in the province of Palermo, have found a bird of prey belonging to the Poiana species, protected by law, wounded by hunting pellets presumably shot by poachers not far from the inhabited center near Villa Merlo.
The injured bird of prey presumably moved away from the place of the shot, continuing to fly until it was able to land exhausted near Villa Merlo, one of the historic sites of Ficarazzi, where it was later found.
Once the injured bird of prey was recovered, the Carabinieri immediately contacted the colleagues of the State Forestry Corps who in turn entrusted the Buzzard to the LIPU Center of Ficuzza, in the district of the Municipality of Corleone (PA).
