Poaching and surroundings: Brindisi, the hunting season has begun with the pre-opening days, the surveillance season also begins hunting operated in collaboration between responsible bodies, associations and volunteers.
The hunting season has begun, with an important synergy between the Hunting Guards, Volunteer Associations, the Province of Brindisi and the Provincial Police, ATC (Territorial hunting area). One was found hare died in Contrada Santa Lucia and stopped two people. The hunting season has practically begun also in the Brindisi area (the general opening is set for 20 September and will end on 31 January 2016) and consequently the hunting surveillance service is in motion.
Eliminate the phenomenon of poaching, those who do not respect the fauna, the rules, the environment. This is the “password”, linked to an ever increasing need for control and safeguarding of the territory, also in light, inevitably, of the recent choices and cuts of the Government.
The phenomenon of poaching has always represented a serious problem, even difficult to deal with. But, once again, the synergy between ATC (Territorial Hunting Area), the Province of Brindisi and the Provincial Police, the Voluntary Hunting Guards, the Associations, in these days is stronger than everything and everyone.
Ekoclub International Brindisi, Libera Caccia, EnalCaccia, Arcicaccia, Federcaccia, National Association of free hunting: these are the voluntary associations that are giving their best, in terms of control and supervision (precisely in coordination with ATC and the Provincial Police) so that the season hunting is not opposed and invalidated by those who do not respect the rules.
And just two Ekoclub Hunting Guards and a representative of the National Free Hunting Association, in carrying out their hunting surveillance service in Contrada Santa Lucia (Municipality of Brindisi) as per service order signed by the Commander of the Provincial Police Dr. Giovanni Erroi, have fully carried out their duty in an operation that took place this morning which will now be examined by the investigating bodies. It is written in the report: “two people (father and son) were arrested in a hunting attitude, of which only one equipped with a rifle, immediately subjected to control and identification by the voluntary hunting guards. The area was scoured on the carpet, where one of the two arrested was practicing hunting and a dead hare was found. The hare seemed to have been shot down by a shotgun and had recently been killed. It was still hot and bleeding ”.
In short, heavy clues that would make us think (but, we repeat, it will be the judicial authority to ascertain how the facts really went) an involvement of the people arrested in the killing of the hare. But those directly involved, in the meantime, have already declared that they are not responsible for the killing of the animal. In the meantime, the killed hare was handed over to the provincial police patrol who intervened to fulfill the relevant obligations.
