During an anti-poaching operation by the Provincial Police in the province of Arezzo, a poacher was reported for serious environmental crimes.
The anti-poaching operation was carried out at the first light of dawn on Saturday 15 October last by the Provincial Police of Arezzo in collaboration with a team of Agriforest hunting security guards.
After a long stalking the agents and security guards surprised a sixty-year-old from Sansepolcro (AR) while practicing wildlife poaching and illegal catching.
During the operation, a large number of captured birds were seized and confiscated from the elderly poacher, in particular fourteen partridges, four thrushes and six blackbirds, all held in poor conditions in cages; in addition, numerous poaching tools were seized from the man such as two recorders, two artisanal traps for trapping, 94 catching bows for birds, 85 catching bows with nets, 65 bows for small birds, various trapping nets as well as two dangerous handcrafted trap shot and various weapons and ammunition.
The poacher was denounced on the loose for serious environmental crimes committed and in the same circumstance was sanctioned for the administrative violations depicted for what was committed.
The President of the Province, Roberto Vasai, commented with satisfaction on the anti-poaching operation, "I express my satisfaction with this operation which confirms, once again, the commitment of the Provincial Police against poaching and related crimes".
