Poaching in the coratino. The men of the Forest Station Command of Ruvo di Puglia have concluded the investigations related to an act of poaching that took place last January.
The investigations made it possible to identify the man who in the "Serra Ceccibizio" forest in the countryside of Corato was caught red-handed by the agents while hunted inside the Alta Murgia National Park.
On that occasion the man quickly fled, giving rise to a long chase on foot in the bush. The poacher got rid of theweapon before being stopped by the men of the forest. The searches to find the weapon were unsuccessful, making it necessary to search the man's home to verify the possession of other hunting weapons.
After some time, thanks also to a collaboration with the "San Paolo" State Police Commissioner of Bari, it was possible to complete the operation by seizing the weapon, a 12-gauge Benelli Vinci shotgun, together with the relative ammunition , radio transmitters, electronic decoy devices and other hunting equipment.
The poacher, a 41-year-old from Palese, will now have to answer for the crime of hunting not allowed in a protected area as well as for the abandonment of the firearm.
