Two poachers arrested in the Abruzzo National Park, Lazio and Molise. The Forestry agents of the Avezzano and Gioia dei Marsi station commands believe they have beheaded the top of a band of unscrupulous hunters operating within the protected area.
Following an intense and effective intelligence activity, forestry workers coordinated by the provincial command of L'Aquila and by the territorial coordination for the environment of Pescasseroli (structure of the Forestry that also deals with surveillance within the Park area) they caught Donato Boccia, 60, and Gianni Di Vincenzo, 64, the first from Opi, the other resident in Villanova di Guidonia, in the fragrance of crime, in the locality of San Sebastiano in the municipality of Bisegna. The two had been followed for some time because they were known to be poaching and with specific criminal records.
At the time of the bliz, one of the two escaped, disappearing into the dense vegetation but chased by the foresters, he was blocked. The other, who was holding a rifle with an abraded serial number, equipped with a decidedly professional optical system, was conspicuously surrounded and stopped at a halt.
In carrying out the house searches, other weapons (carbines, pistols), ammunition, pointed and edged weapons, trophies, taxidermized fauna, parts of frozen boar were seized. The disputed crimes range from hunting in a protected area to the possession and use of a weapon with an abraded registration number.
The prosecutor on call of the Avezzano prosecutor has ordered the extent of house arrest for both poachers. Now the organization that referred to the two arrested is without points of reference and it is not excluded that there may be subsequent investigative developments. The whole preparatory phase of the operation was important: the foresters, in addition to closely following the movements of the two subjects on the territory, have tried to understand the dynamics and logic underlying the complex movements and attendances of the top management of the organization.
